Optical Mark Recognition (OMR)  has a vast panorama of use. It is not restricted to only to standardized testing as well as course enrollment and attendance in education. Its domain lies in HR Departments, Healthcare Industry, Hospitality Industry and many more uses like time and attendance, labor tracking, inventory management, voting applications, exit surveys, polling, and all manner of questionnaires and evaluation studies. The HR industry worldwide depends on OMR Technology for Employee Testing, Job Satisfaction surveys, benefits enrollment, change of employee status, payroll deductions, and user training. Healthcare providers use the technology for registration and surveys, and medical labs for patient evaluations and tracking supply orders and lab services. OMR technology is user friendly and is easy to use and cost effective for opinion tracking, the technology has become a tool for on-location and direct-mail marketing. Schools , Universities  and Educational Societies are spread in  entire nation . Statistics suggest that there are over thousands of schools (public and private) have come up for primary education at a district level . With such a volume Schools quickly  need more and more of IT into there schools for managing the data. I was sitting with the principal of famous school in Delhi (they have a large chain of schools in India and World).  She discussed " Our school has come up with education web sites , school has message board  , online tutorials. Online Fees and attendance management , online results , etc".  She paused and continued ... "We have it all ? " I said " ALL" . She said " Yes.. we have our IT department and  they have mesmerized everybody with online

OMR refers to the technique of converting a handwritten marks into an  ASCII value. The Mark is created by filling a circle or a box on a  pre-printed form . The presence or absence of a Mark in a specific location is then converted into a value such as a selection in a multi- choice question,  the selection of one item in a list of several, or even to code a  specific numeric or alphanumeric value, such as a date using six columns of 10 boxes or name with 26 columns etc Thus, if a Mark by itself can only generate a binary choice (presence or absence), the combination of several marks arranged on a form can  provide intelligent answers to questions and be used as a fast and accurate replacement to data entry in many applications.   Basically an OMR Reader is only intelligent to accurately give the position of the marks , interpretation of marks is an important aspect and more than  often known as Template Creation .   Optical marks recognition is traditionally perfo
